A Morel-Lavallee lesion (MLL) is a closed soft tissue degloving injury. The normal presentation is ongoing pain or a lump in the thigh or buttock after an episode of severe bruising following injury.

Scars go through a process of change but sometimes get stuck in a phase of inflammation when surgery may help improve the appearance of a scar.
Surgery however can never fully remove the presence of a scar.
Pressure sores (pressure ulcers, bedsores, decubitus ulcers) are localised injuries to the skin and underlying tissue caused by prolonged pressure.
There can be surgical options for pressure sores from simple wound cleaning to reconstruction.
