After TRAUMA

Microsurgery

Microsurgery is a highly specialised form of reconstructive plastic surgery that transplants healthy tissue from one part of the body to another part that may be injured or in need of repair. The goal is to salvage and restore form and function, allowing patients to maintain the best quality of life possible given their injury or disease.

Scarring

The area of the body from where the healthy tissue is harvested, is generally closed with a straight line scar. The area where the tissue is moved to will also be subject to scarring.

In terms of how the scars will heal and fade over time, everyone is different and the appearance will depend on skin tone, elasticity and how your skin heals. Scar massage can help improve the appearance and functionality of scar tissue.
