Skin Tags

A skin tag is a small, soft growth of skin that hangs off the body. Skin tags are non-cancerous and very common, especially as people age. They can catch on clothing or become inflamed. Skin tags are removed under a local anaesthetic.

Scarring

Generally there is very little scarring associated with skin tag removal.

In terms of how the scars will heal and fade over time, everyone is different and the appearance will depend on skin tone, elasticity and how your skin heals.

Recovery

Recovery is quick and patients can go back to work the same day.

A small dressing will be provided and can be removed after 5 days.

There is generally no need for a follow-up appointment.
