After Weight Loss

Breast Lift

Breast lift surgery or mastopexy involves the reshaping of the breast following deflation, for example after weight loss and natural drooping of the breast. It helps reposition existing breast tissue further up onto the chest wall. There are a number of techniques available and all of them will require a scar around the areola.

Scarring

The scar for a breast lift is typically around the areola, with a vertical incision from the bottom of the areola to the breast crease and a horizontal incision along the breast crease.

In terms of how the scars will heal and fade over time, everyone is different and the appearance will depend on skin tone, elasticity and how your skin heals.

Recovery

A breast lift is not a minor procedure and you should understand the recovery process and the preparations in your daily life that may be required to help you through it.
